What happens when writers and illustrators come together to imagine, create, and bring stories to life?

Join the Southern Nevada Writing Project (SNWP) for the next event in our Writers Inspiring Writers: SNWP Author Series, featuring award-winning children’s author and illustrator Shanda McCloskey.

This fun, hands-on writing experience invites participants to write and illustrate alongside Shanda as we explore storytelling, creativity, mentor texts, and the art of bringing ideas to life on the page. Whether you are an educator looking for fresh ways to inspire young writers or a young writer ready to explore your own creativity, there will be opportunities to write, draw, experiment, and collaborate.

The event is designed especially for elementary and middle school educators, but young and aspiring writers in grades 2–12 are also welcome.

Think creatively about storytelling
Collaborate with other writers and educators
Learn from a professional author and illustrator

Cost: $25 for educators | $15 for students and youth | $10 for virtual attendance

CCSD Educator Credit

CCSD educators can earn 1 Continuing Unit (CU) for attending the event.

Participants can earn 2 additional CUs by completing 6 hours of follow-up response work after the event.
