The Southern Nevada Writing Project is thrilled to announce our 2026 summer writing camp: StoryLab: Writing Across Media, an immersive three-day experience designed for students entering 1st through 9th grade who are passionate about storytelling and creative expression. At the heart of this camp is strong, purposeful writing. Students will draft, revise, and strengthen their work while exploring how writing can take shape across formats such as podcasts, comics, scripts, digital storytelling, and spoken word. Whether you love fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or imaginative storytelling, this camp will help you grow as a writer, experiment with creative possibilities, and celebrate your work in a vibrant community of young creators.
Camp Details
- Who: Students entering grades 1-9 during the 2026-2027 school year
- If you have a high school student entering grades 10-12 interested in volunteering as a mentor writer, please click HERE to register your student.
- What: Three-day writing camp exploring creativity across a college campus
- Where: UNLV – 4505 S. Maryland Pkwy, Las Vegas, NV 89154
- When: Wednesday, May 27 – Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Before care from 8:00 – 9:00 AM, and after care from 4:00 – 5:00 PM with optional writing activities will be provided for families.
- Cost: $225 per student (includes lunch, all writing materials, and activities)

Lunch Details
Lunch is included in the cost of the camp and will be provided in the UNLV Dining Commons. The Dining Commons is all-you-can-eat with a variety of dining options to choose from. Your student must be aware of any allergies and/or dietary concerns. We encourage students to ask the Dining Commons staff any questions they may have regarding the food options.
